THE SOLO EXPRESSION STORY
Solo Expression was founded by Anthony "Solo" Harris, who began his journey as an at-risk youth but managed to transform his life through dance. Anthony established Solo Expression to offer a modern dance environment that merges traditional studio standards with a strong focus on supporting developmentally disabled and at-risk youth.Anthony 'Solo' Harris has made a groundbreaking contribution to the dance community by inventing a unique form of dance therapy. This innovative approach has cultivated a safe and expressive space for individuals with disabilities, at-risk youth, and our senior populations. Through this therapy, participants are able to express themselves freely, fostering growth in their individuality and tapping into their spiritual healing energy. This form of dance therapy not only promotes physical wellness but also addresses emotional and mental health, making a significant impact on the lives of those who engage in it. Anthony's pioneering work highlights the transformative power of dance, bridging gaps and bringing diverse communities together through movement and creativity
We take pride in showing that the arts can have a profound and lasting impact, fostering self-esteem, personal growth, and camaraderie in a safe and enjoyable environment.
For individuals with developmental disabilities, dance can positively impact attention span, memory, ability to follow instructions, and physical strength and coordination. Dance is a powerful therapy due to its sensorimotor integration. It allows for the expression of emotions and ideas through individual movements while requiring participants to control their bodies within a group setting. Dance will always encourage a healthy well-being.
At Solo Expression, we offer services for both youth and adults. If you can't come to the studio, no problem! We also provide on-site sessions and ZOOM classes. For public and private sessions, please contact us at soloexpressionspa@gmail.com."
